A story about our ingredients

You won’t find concentrates, things you can pronounce, or ingredient lists a mile long. You’ll find real apples, fresh pressed - those with antiquated histories, with funny names and deep roots, as well as those that you know and love.

“Real Cider” is made from apples, vs. lab derived apple flavorants or concentrates - they’re crushed and pressed for their juice. This juice, treated much like wine, takes the adventure through fermentation, where the natural sugars transform into alcohol. Without using artificial ingredients, concentrates, or chemicals, the apples we use matter. It’s the backbone of the magic that happens in creating Lekker. Apples are a living product, they change based on the season, which means our ciders might change too - where we are in the hands of the terroir and vintage they’re sourced from.

To find our apples, we wandered off into the Pacific Northwest, one of our favorite regions, and one which just happens to grow incredible apples for cider making. Transporting fresh-pressed juice over the mountains, we begin the process of cider making in the urban center of Calgary, Alberta.

In the heart of creativity, we use classical techniques but experimental ingredients such as different beer yeasts (which impart unique flavour profiles), different pressed juices, hops and other spices to create unique and innovative ciders. We want to see your eyes light up when you sip Lekker - to think differently about what you know and have experienced as cider before. We want to create a beloved beverage you share with your friends, to be the one you take with you on your adventures, as well as one that you keep coming back to.

Where can we find your ciders?
